This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit or use the Services, make a purchase or other transaction, use our software or Web Service, or otherwise communicate with us.
If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

For purposes of applicable data protection laws, we are the controller of personal information we collect about shoppers, site visitors, and account contacts. For customer operational content inside a Web Service instance (described below), we generally act as a service provider / processor on behalf of the customer organization, except where we use limited account and billing data as a controller to run our business.
1. Two kinds of information (important)
A. Store, account, and business information — for example your name, email, shipping address, payment details handled by payment providers, order history, and support emails. We use this to sell and support products.
B. Customer operational data in software / Web Service — for example detections, maps, history, zones, classifications, node/gateway status, and alert configuration inside a customer’s instance. The customer owns this operational data. We process it to provide, maintain, secure, and support the service—not to sell it or use it for third-party advertising.
2. Personal information we collect or process
When we use the term “personal information,” we mean information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. It does not include information that is anonymous or de-identified so it cannot reasonably identify you.
Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect or process:
- Contact details — name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, email address, organization name
- Financial / payment information — payment method details and transaction confirmation (typically processed by Shopify and payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers)
- Account information — username, password or other auth credentials, preferences and settings (store and/or software)
- Transaction information — items viewed, cart activity, purchases, returns, subscription plan and status
- Communications — information you include in support requests, emails, or other messages (including provisioning notes we keep to set up or support your system)
- Device and usage information — device/browser/network data, IP address, unique identifiers, logs, and how you use the website or software
- Alert destinations you configure — email addresses, SMS numbers, and webhook URLs if you enable those features
- Operational / detection-related data — Remote ID–related information received via your hardware; map, session, and history data; labels and configuration you enter; connectivity/health signals needed to run gateways and detectors
Enrichment features: When enabled or used by the product, we may query third-party or public sources to improve display and analysis—for example FAA registration-style lookups and elevation data (such as open elevation services) used to help with height-above-ground (AGL) calculations. Those providers process the query data needed to return a result under their own terms.
3. Sources of personal information
- Directly from you — when you create an account, buy products, use software, configure alerts, or contact us
- Automatically — from your device/browser when you use the website or services, including cookies and similar technologies
- From your systems and hardware — detections and status data sent from equipment you deploy
- From service providers — e.g. Shopify, hosting, email, payments, when they process information on our behalf or as described in their role
- From partners or other third parties — where legally permitted (for example reference data used by product features)
4. How we use personal information
Depending on how you use the Services, we may use information to:
- Provide, tailor, and improve the Services — process orders and subscriptions, fulfill shipping, maintain accounts, provision and operate Web Service, deliver map/history/alert features, remember preferences, and improve reliability and user experience
- Marketing and advertising — send promotional communications where permitted, and (via Shopify and related tools) support advertising and personalization on or off our site based on store activity. You can opt out of marketing emails and, where available, targeted advertising choices described below
- Security and fraud prevention — authenticate accounts, protect payments and systems, detect abuse or malicious activity
- Customer support and operations — respond to you, provision systems, troubleshoot, and maintain our business relationship
- Legal reasons — comply with law, legal process, enforce terms/policies, and protect rights and safety
We do not sell customer operational detection/map content. We do not use that content to build third-party advertising profiles.
5. How we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information in these circumstances:
- Service providers and vendors who perform services for us (examples may include: Shopify and payment processing; cloud hosting such as Render for Web Service; email delivery; SMS providers when you use SMS alerts; productivity/email tools such as Google Workspace for support; shipping/fulfillment; IT and security tools). They process information to provide services to us or as otherwise described in their terms when they act as independent controllers
- Business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and advertise to you. For example, we use Shopify features that may support personalized advertising with third-party services based on online activity. Those partners use information under their own privacy notices. Depending on where you reside, you may have a right to opt out of sale/sharing for targeted advertising—use the opt-out mechanisms provided on our store/Shopify where available, including any “opt out” link shown in our store policies or footer
- When you direct us — for example shipping providers, or alert destinations (email/SMS/webhooks) you configure
- Infrastructure providers you choose or we manage for you — for example Starlink when you use Managed Starlink; their network/account processing is also governed by their policies
- Affiliates / corporate group if applicable
- Legal, safety, and business transactions — legal process, enforcement of terms, protection of rights, or a merger, acquisition, financing, or bankruptcy-related transfer
6. Relationship with Shopify
The store and related website shopping features are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of those features in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit to the store may be transmitted to and shared with Shopify and third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside.
To help protect, grow, and improve our business, we may use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify. In some of those circumstances, Shopify is responsible for processing personal information and for responding to rights requests related to those uses. Learn more in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal resources Shopify provides.
7. Web Service hosting and other processors
Web Service instances and related application data are typically hosted on cloud infrastructure (for example Render or a similar host we use). We also use email providers for transactional and support messages, and may use SMS providers when SMS alerting is enabled. Support and provisioning records may be processed in our business email/productivity tools (for example Google Workspace).
We primarily operate in the United States. Information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website and store may use cookies and similar technologies to run the site and cart, remember preferences, support security, measure traffic/performance, and (where enabled) support advertising/analytics via Shopify or apps. You can control cookies through browser settings; some features may not function if cookies are disabled. Where required, we honor applicable opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control as implemented by Shopify for store visitors.
9. Children’s data
The Services are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (and not under 13). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion. As of the effective date of this policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” personal information of individuals under 16 as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No security measures are perfect. Information sent over the internet may not be secure in transit—avoid sending highly sensitive secrets over unsecured channels. You are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and for securing your own networks, gateways, and field hardware.
11. Retention
How long we keep information depends on context, including whether we need it to maintain an account, provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.
- Store and billing records — kept as needed for orders, taxes, accounting, and legal obligations
- Web Service / software operational data — kept while needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period after service ends for wind-down, support, or legal reasons. Exact periods are not fixed for all data types at this time and may change as product features evolve; you may request deletion subject to legal limits
- Support and provisioning notes — kept as reasonably needed to support you and operate the business
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:
- Access / know
- Delete
- Correct
- Portability
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising (as defined by applicable law)
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information (where applicable)
- Appeal a denied request (where applicable)
These rights are not absolute and may not apply in every case. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights under applicable law.
How to exercise rights: Email support@drone-mapper.com or call +1 208-497-1862. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, with proof of authorization.
Marketing emails: Unsubscribe using the link in the email. We may still send non-promotional messages about orders, accounts, or the service.
Targeted advertising / sale-share opt-out: Use the opt-out mechanisms provided on our store (including any link labeled for opting out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising) and tools Shopify provides. If you visit with a recognized Global Privacy Control signal, Shopify may treat that as an opt-out for that browser/device as described in Shopify’s documentation. We do not respond to all other “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Customer Web Service users: If your access is through an organization account, contact your organization admin first for content inside that instance. We may need the admin’s authorization for some requests.
EEA/UK (if applicable): Where those laws apply, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing). You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. International transfers from the EEA/UK, when applicable, rely on appropriate mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions where used by us or our providers.

13. California notice (summary)
California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Categories we may collect include identifiers, commercial information, internet/electronic activity, and geolocation-related data that appears in product features when provided by Remote ID or configuration. We disclose personal information to service providers and as otherwise described above. We do not sell personal information for money. Store advertising features may involve “sharing” under California law via Shopify and partners—use the opt-out tools described above. Submit requests to support@drone-mapper.com.
14. Third-party websites and services
The Services may link to third-party sites or platforms. Their privacy practices are their own. We are not responsible for their content or policies. Public posts on third-party social platforms may be visible broadly under those platforms’ rules.
15. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this website, update the “Last updated” date, and provide additional notice when required by law.
