Remote Detector Power Options
Choose how your Remote Detector Node is powered in the field:
| Option | Best for | Included |
|---|---|---|
| Solar Kit | Standalone field deployment — rooftops, ridgelines, remote perimeters, and off-grid sites | Solar panel, internal battery, and integrated charging |
| USB Power | Sites with power nearby — buildings, vehicles, or fixed mounts within cable reach | 30-foot USB power cable. No internal battery — powered continuously from your USB source |
The Home Node is powered via USB from the computer running Drone-Mapper.
What Drone-Mapper Does
Drone-Mapper turns Remote ID radio broadcasts into live situational awareness on your command screen.
- Live map — drone and pilot positions, flight paths, and node status in real time
- FAA registration lookup when aircraft broadcast a registration ID
- AGL altitude — estimated height above ground using terrain data
- Classifications & aliases — organize aircraft into Authorized, Unknown, Banned, and custom categories
- Timeline & flight replay — scrub through any detection session on the map
- CSV & KML exports — per-flight and full-session logs for reports, GIS, and evidence
- Warning & alert zones — draw monitoring polygons on the map
How It Works
Remote Detector (field) → wireless mesh → Home Node (base) → USB → Drone-Mapper on your PC
- Deploy your Remote Detector Node where you need airspace coverage.
- Place your Home Node at your command post. It receives mesh traffic, deduplicates overlapping reports, and forwards clean data over USB.
- Run Drone-Mapper on your Windows or Mac. Your browser opens to the live operations map.
Field detection and mesh relay work without internet. Internet is used for basemap tiles, FAA lookups, terrain data, and optional remote viewing.
Software Licensing
Drone-Mapper Local License (included — perpetual, lifetime updates)
Founding Members receive a perpetual Local License with lifetime updates. This is not a subscription.
- Run Drone-Mapper on your own Windows or Mac computer — forever
- Connect your Home Node via USB
- Full map, logging, replay, exports, and classifications
- Every future software update — new features, improvements, and fixes — at no additional charge, for the life of the product
- 2 year of priority support from purchase date (setup, troubleshooting, operational questions)
After year one, your software keeps working and keeps updating. Support beyond the second year is available separately if needed — but your updates never expire.
Drone-Mapper Remote Access (optional add-on)
Local License covers on-site and same-network use. To view your live map from any device, anywhere at yourorg.drone-mapper.com, add Drone-Mapper Remote Access — a separate monthly subscription ($49/month or $490/year). Not required to use your kit, but a very useful feature.
2-Year Hardware Warranty
Founding Member hardware is covered for 2 full years from the date of delivery.
Warranty covers:
- Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use
- Node failure preventing detection or mesh relay when properly powered and deployed
- Repair or replacement at our discretion
Warranty does not cover:
- Damage from misuse, improper installation, lightning, flooding, or physical impact
- Normal wear on external cables and mounting hardware
- Issues caused by unauthorized modification or third-party firmware
- Detection range limitations due to environment, aircraft behavior, or Remote ID non-compliance by aircraft
Why Become a Founding Member?
- Lifetime updates — never pay a software maintenance renewal fee
- Double the hardware protection — 2-year warranty vs. standard 1-year
- Priority support in your first year as we refine the platform with real-world feedback
- Shape the product — your field experience directly influences what we build next
- Exclusive pricing — this bundle of terms will not be repeated once all 5 slots are filled

System Requirements
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Computer | Windows 10/11 or macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel) |

Quick Start
- Power on your Remote Detector Node — Solar Kit: confirm panel exposure; USB Power: connect the 30-foot cable to your USB source.
- Connect your Home Node to your computer via USB.
- Install and launch Drone-Mapper.
- Select your USB connection in Settings and click Begin Mapping.
- Watch the map — detections appear when aircraft broadcasting Remote ID are within range.
Important Notes
- Limited to 5 Founding Members total. Offer closes when the fifth kit is purchased — no exceptions, no waitlist.
- Lifetime updates apply to the Drone-Mapper Local License included with this kit. Remote Access (yourorg.drone-mapper.com) remains a separate optional subscription.
- Founding Member benefits are tied to the original purchaser and are non-transferable.
- Detection range depends on environment and aircraft transmit behavior. Drone-Mapper logs what aircraft broadcast via Remote ID.
